Information Submitted Directly
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the result experience. Jersey City Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those searches on its own servers. A message sent to the operator contains the information supplied in that message and is used to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting services may create ordinary logs with an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. Those logs help maintain performance and understand general use. Cookies or comparable tools may support basic analytics and, where relevant, advertising measurement.
How Limited Data Is Used
Limited technical and contact data supports site operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and replies to messages. Visitor lists are not sold, and the service does not create individual visitor profiles from search activity.
External Search Services
Links lead to city, county, state, library, archive, and third-party services. Each outside service controls the information submitted to it under its own policy. That includes sponsored results provided through a third-party search service.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and support providers may process the technical data described above on the operator's behalf. Analytics or advertising providers may receive automatic information. Data is disclosed when required by valid legal process and not for unrelated purposes.
Data Safeguards
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. Since there are no user accounts, the service does not hold visitor passwords or account profiles.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. Contact the operator if a minor has sent information so it can be removed.
Privacy and Access Requests
Visitors may ask about contact information or technical data held by the operator through the Contact page. The materials reviewed for New Jersey did not identify a general state consumer-privacy statute applicable to this private reference. The New Jersey Open Public Records Act, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., governs access to government records, not records held by this private service. Government-held data can also be limited by the Address Confidentiality Program, Daniel's Law, and motor-vehicle privacy rules under the Driver's Privacy Protection Act route.
Policy Revisions
Any revised version will be posted here. Continued use after publication of a revision signifies acceptance of the updated policy.
